May it is porcelain or the ceramic type, all tiles are very simple to maintain.  The only thing you need is perseverance. All tiles need to be regularly wiped and cleaned so that dirt, bacteria, and stains will not build-up in time.  If stains are left untreated, they will accumulate and you may already need to buy a good cleaning solution to bring them back to their previous luster.

You probably heard that you can use vinegar and water solution to sparkly clean your tiles; however, there are a lot of ways to clean and disinfect them at the same time.

These are two easy tips and hacks to make those precious tiles in your bathroom look good again:

·         White Vinegar Solution– Yes, this is the most simple idea to clean tiles.  There are so many cleaning solutions that you can but on the market right now, but once you consider it carefully, try using a home-made solution.  To make a solution of warm water and white vinegar, just get a cup of white vinegar and mix it in one gallon of water.  After cleaning the bathroom, thoroughly, use a mop to clean the tiles and let it sit there for 15-30 minutes. With the help of an old toothbrush, gently scrub the stains or dirt on tiles and grouts.  Rinse with clean water afterward. This solution will not only disinfect and clean the area; it also helps in getting rid of any nasty smell in there. You may also add some pinch of baking soda to make it more effective.  You just need to be aware of some marks that it may leave on tiles and grouts but soap and water can make it come off without any problem. Also, keep in mind that it will not be effective all the time, especially if you have limestone and marble materials on your bathroom floor.  Vinegar may react harshly to these kinds of material so you refrain from using them if you have these materials on your flooring.

·         Hydrogen Peroxide – Cleaning grout and tiles with hydrogen peroxide is also effective.  Grout is prone to dirt and it will steal away the beauty of your tiles in time.  You may have heard that bleach can also clean and disinfects, however, it is not good to use it, especially indoors because it is toxic.  The one thing that you can use, though, is Hydrogen Peroxide, it has the same cleaning and disinfectant effect, but, it is non-toxic compared to bleach.  To use this cleaning material, spray a few amounts of Hydrogen Peroxide over the tiles and let it stay for 2-3 hours. Afterward, wipe the tiles or scrub them using a wet cloth or a brush and you will notice that your tiles will be squeaky and sparkly clean.  Again, adding a pinch of baking soda to it will upgrade its performance in cleaning. You don’t need to worry about any damage it may cause because it is completely safe. The mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide and baking soda is a surefire idea when it comes to getting rid of a really old stain.

·         Dish Soap – You can also use dish soap to remove stubborn stains.  You can do this by softening those oil stains with warm water.  You can either use a sponge or even a paper towel soaked in warm water.  Then use the dish soap to completely clean that stains. You can also add essential oil to make it smell fresh.  Repeat the steps if needed and for sure you will your desired result.

Effectively Remove Oil Stains

This is how you can effectively remove oil stains on your kitchen tiles.  Every time you cook with oil, there will always be some oil splitter that will happen and it may reach your backsplash, countertop and other places in the kitchen.  Oil stains can make anything look dirty and old. Oil stains need to be clean regularly and this is actually the best solution, once you consider it carefully.  However, there will be times that you may not be able to clean them after cooking because of some urgent appointment.  Sometimes you really need to hurry after cooking breakfast because you will probably get late already, so the result would a build-up that would sit there, making it hard for you to clean up.

The Hydrogen Peroxide and baking soda solution is the best way to remove this stain build-up.  It will help clean your tiles and other surfaces in the kitchen without you spending so much money.

Getting Rid of the Water Marks

It is true that tiles are the water-resistant type of material; however, this doesn’t mean that they are foolproof.  In time, water minerals can build-up on grout and tiles, leaving them with an unattractive look. This is why wiping the floor and tiles in the kitchen each time you cook is really advisable.  It is also understandable that it is impossible, so an issue like this will be solved by using an effective cleaning solution. Watermarks can be removed by using the vinegar solution with a pinch of baking soda.

There are now so many ways to remove dirt, mildew, and mold from kitchen and bathroom tiles and floors.  You may use any of the home-made solutions mentioned once you consider it carefully. The most important thing to do is to clean regularly so that your tiles will last and look good for a very long time.
